Ready-made volunteer roles
The Hull History Centre believes in the
positive contribution that volunteers have made and can make to its
services and collections. We want to ensure that people who share
our passion for sharing, and caring for, our heritage can become
involved with our work.
We are always thinking of ways in which
volunteers can enhance what we do. This means that throughout each
year ready-made volunteer roles will be advertised. Some of these
roles will be one-off opportunities with fixed end dates, others
will be ongoing.
We have received an overwhelming response to
our call for volunteers so far. Spaces for volunteers to work with
us are very limited, and at the moment we are not
recruiting additional volunteers, but we anticipate having
more volunteer opportunities later in the year. If you wish
to register your interest with us for
future opportunities, please complete the application form.
Registering your interest will mean that we can contact you
directly when new roles become available.
Commitment
The time
commitment that we will require from you will vary depending on the
role, but it will generally involve working in blocks of hours on a
regular basis. Typically we will ask for a commitment from you to
volunteer for a set period of time each week. We will agree with
the successful volunteer when and for how long this set period of
time will be.
Training and Opportunities
Successful
applicants will be provided with inductions into their roles, and
with a History Centre induction. Training on specialised skills
will be provided at a basic level as required. To apply for a role
you should complete the application form in the registering your
interest page.
See the jobs page
for details of any available paid opportunities.
