Adult Learning
Our Existing Adult Learning Outreach
Programme
The Hull History Centre project team
already provide adult learning opportunities in the local community
through the Hull History Services Outreach Programme, standing
alone locally and possibly regionally as a provider of post-16
local history courses which are free of charge to students.
Over recent years this programme has developed
into a 5 week (10 hour) course which has been very well received in
the city. In the 2008/2009 academic year we attracted over 250
students, many of whom had not attended any type of course since
leaving full time education. Amongst these statistics we found
that our oldest student was 102 years of age and that a visitor
from Western Australia joined us for a few sessions, so there
appears to be something for everyone.
The current programme includes:
Week 1 - 1900-1920 (including WWI)
Week 2 - 1920-1939 (including the depression years)
Week 3 - 1939-date (including WWII)
Week 4 - Religion in the City of Hull
Week 5 - A film show of bygone Hull
Courses are regularly advertised in the local
free press.
The Future of our Adult Learning

We are currently working on a number of
additional projects.
Please continue to check back for news as we
finalise our adult learning programme.
