Undergraduate Studies

These pages are designed to help undergraduate students at the University of Hull to find relevant archives, plan a visit and use archives successfully in coursework and dissertations.

Module guides for various subjects have been produced listing collections which may be of use during your studies

Libguides

Libguides is a new initiative from the University of Hull which hopes to provide easier access to all forms of research material.  The pages relating to archival material can be found here

You can also get advice from any of the archives staff at Hull History Centre during our opening hours.

  • using national databases and online catalogues to find archives located elsewhere
  • locating and using other archive offices

If you do find relevant sources at Hull History Centre, staff on hand to help you by:

  • advising on how to read old styles of handwriting
  • producing photocopies or digital images of selected documents (for which there will be a charge)

We are developing internship prgorammes in partnership with academic departments. One student has added her account of her experiences to the volunteer Case Studies.
