Hebblethwaite & Son Land Agents
Making the catalogues of our archive
collections readily available is just one aspect of the
behind-the-scenes work carried out at the Hull History Centre. As
well as cataloguing new collections deposited here this also
involves editing our old catalogues to make sure that each
catalogue reaches the same standard across all three repositories
at the History Centre.
Our latest catalogue now available is that of
the Hebblethwaite and Son Land Agents Company (C
DBHT). This collection is one of the largest business
collections held at the History Centre, and includes such records
as diaries, letter books, financial records, plans, valuation
papers, as well as papers relating to the Hebblethwaite family.

Above is a small selection of just some of the
items held in the Hebblethwaite collection. This selection includes
a plan of the Borough of Kingston upon Hull showing the municipal
boundary as well as ward boundaries, a diary dating back to
1838, a letter book, and a selection of annual reports and accounts
of the Hull Institute of Estate Agents and Auctioneers.
The Hebblethwaite catalogue is also now
available to search online. By adding this collection to our online
catalogue the number of catalogue entries has now risen to over
250,000.
The Hebblethwaite collection is made up of thousands of items so
why not search the online
catalogue to find out which documents are relevant to you by
typing C DBHT into the reference
field. (This predefined search will show you
all 6066 items in the Hebblethwaite collection). If you
would like to look at some of the items of the Hebblethwaite
collection, they can be viewed in the Hull History Centre
search room.
