The History Centre can arrange behind the scenes tours for groups. The charge for this is £2 per head. The tours are an informal introduction to the History Centre:

  • Who we are
  • Why we’re here
  • What we keep
  • How the collections can be accessed.

A professional member of staff leads the tour. Tours take approximately 1 hour and involve stairs and walking. We can accommodate groups of between 5 and 10 people. We may be able to accomodate larger groups subject to sufficient notice and staff availability. We do require advance notice if people who may have trouble with stairs so that we can arrange alternative tour routes and potentially additional staff. A 50% non-returnable deposit is required at the time of booking.

Group tours can be arranged to begin between the following times: Monday to Friday 10–11am and 2–4pm.
Group tours are subject to staff availability. It is unlikely that we will be able to fulfil requests for tours at weekends.
