Writes and Wrongs: Documenting Liberty

This conference is being held to complement the
celebrations of the 75th anniversary of Liberty and is being held
at the University of Hull, the home of the archives of
Liberty. An exhibition of selected documents from the Liberty
Archive will be on display.
Speakers:
- Dr Margery Palmer McCulloch, Glasgow
University on Lewis Grassic Gibbon
- Andy Croft, writer and poet on Randall
Swingler and MI5
- Professor Patrick Birkinshaw, Law School,
University of Hull on ‘Freedom of Information as a Human
Right?’
- Professor Gary Craig, WISE, University of
Hull on ‘Modern Slavery in the UK’
- Judy Burg, University Archivist, will
introduce her exhibition of selections from the Liberty
archive.
- Isabella Sankey, Liberty's Director of
Policy, will talk about Liberty Today

registration form which must be returned with a cheque for the
relevant fee by Friday 25 September 2009.
Registration fee (includes vegetarian lunch
and refreshments during the day) £30 and £20 concessions
(student/low wage etc). Please note that this fee is
administrative and is payable to the University of Hull. It
does not constitute a donation to the organisation Liberty
