Practical tips for
successful information literacy teaching
Friday, 5th May 2006
University of York (Heslington Campus)
This half-day workshop is for library staff working in Higher
Education who are expected to teach information literacy but have
little or no practical experience in this area.
Using a combination of presentations, case studies and group
work, this workshop aims to provide participants with practical,
tried and tested techniques and advice about how to structure and
manage information literacy teaching sessions.
To ensure that the workshop meets your needs as far as possible,
participants will be asked to complete a brief pre-workshop
questionnaire when a booking is made.
Charge for the workshop, including lunch and refreshments:
£15
Workshop Leaders:
Katherine Everest is Deputy Campus Library Manager at the
Headingley Campus of Leeds Metropolitan University and has
responsibility for leading the Learning Advisers in developing
partnerships with the academic community and information skills
delivery.
Catherine Whiskin is a Subject Librarian at the University of
York and has responsibility for co-ordinating information literacy
teaching. Catherine has worked in HE for the last ten years and has
