Christmas closure period: the History Centre will close at 4.30pm on Tuesday 23 December and will reopen at 9.30am on Saturday 3 January 2026.

Like trains? We do! We're celebrating 200 years of passenger railways with our exhibition "Tracks Through Time: The Story of Hull's Railways" in the arcade. All welcome!

Join us on Tuesday 9 December at 12.30 for our final lunchtime talk of 2025: "Larkin and Ted Tarling: a developing friendship" with Graham Chesters.

We're also celebrating the 70th anniversary of Philip Larkin's "The Less Deceived". See his original notebook and the album which inspired "Lines on a Young Lady's Photograph Album" on display in the library!
